Seagate Surveillance HDD 1TB +Rescue

  1. Before installing your new Seagate Surveillance HDD, turn off your CPU and unplug it from the electrical socket.
  2. Start Removing the side panels of your CPU.
  3. Now, you can access the internal components and cables of your CPU.
  4. Take out the Hard Drive tray, place the Seagate Surveillance HDD on it, and put on the screws.
  5. Now, slide the Tray Back to your CPU.
  6. Connect the SATA cable between the drive and the motherboard. Connect the power cable to the power connector and the signal cable to the Signal Connector.
  7. Put back the side panels of your CPU.
  8. Turn on your computer.
  9. Now, when you check in Devices and Drives in My Computer, you can notice your new drive.
  10. If it did not show up on the main screen, click on the My Computer icon.
  11. It shows the disc drives and hardware connected to the computer.
  12. Click Manage and select Disc Management. You can find your newly installed drive as Unallocated.
  13. A pop-up window titled Initialize Disk will appear. Press OK as you need to initialize the drive before the disc manager can access it.
  14. Right-click your unallocated drive.
  15. Select New Simple Volume and click Next.
  16. The storage specifications of your drive will appear.Click Next.
  17. Assign a drive letter for your new Seagate Surveillance HDD. You can select from the available options by clicking the drop-down. Click Next.
  18. The Format Partition window appears.
  19. In File System, select NTFS. In Allocation unit size, choose Default. In the Volume label, type the name of your Seagate Surveillance HDD (you can give it a name of your choice).
  20. Now, check the box which mentions Perform a quick format. Click Next
  21. The following message will appear: Completing the New Simple Volume Wizard. Click Finish
  22. Now, you can access the new Seagate Surveillance 1Tb +Rescue HDD that you have installed on your computer.
