Seagate Ironwolf Pro 8tb Nas Hard Drive Setup

The Seagate IronWolf Pro 8TB NAS Hard Drive setup is quite simple. Seagate hard drives are well-known for their performance, system scalability, and reliability. If you are setting up two or more NAS hard drives, prepare the Network-Attached Storage (NAS) device to connect to wireless network and load the hard drives into the bay. If you are setting up a single Seagate IronWolf Pro 8TB NAS hard drive, keep reading the instructions below to mount and create a partition of the hard drive on computer.

  1. If you have already turned on computer, turn it off and remove the power cord from the CPU.
  2. Access the hard drive mounting area on computer and insert the Seagate Ironwolf 8TB NAS Hard Drive into it.
  3. Make sure to connect the correct SATA cables and power supply cord to the hard drive.
  4. Close the mounting area and turn on computer.
  5. If you are using Windows 10, log in with administrator rights.
  6. To begin the Seagate IronWolf hard drive setup, open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows + R shortcut keys.
  7. Type ‘diskmgmt.msc’ in the Run dialog box and hit the Enter key to launch the Disk Management window.
  8. Give a right-click on disk in the pop-up window and select the Initialize Disk option.
  9. Choose the GPT option as partition style and click the OK button.
  10. You can now see the Unallocated message next to hard disk drive.
  11. Right-click the Unallocated box and select the New Simple Volume option.
  12. Click Next in the Welcome Wizard and specify the volume size.
  13. Assign a new drive letter for Seagate hard drive and choose NTFS or exFAT from the File system drop-down menu.
  14. Finally, click Next and select Finish. 
  15. Now, Seagate IronWolf 8TB Pro NAS Hard Drive setup should be completed.
