Seagate Ironwolf 2TB Nas Hard Drive Setup

Seagate IronWolf 2TB NAS is an internal hard drive used to store all your data whenever required. The Seagate Ironwolf 2TB Nas hard drive setup is quite simple and easy if you follow these steps.

  1. First, turn off your Windows computer if it is already turned on.
  2. Remove the previously installed hard drive from the hard drive mounting case if you are going to replace it with the new one.
  3. Unpack your Seagate IronWolf 2TB NAS hard drive and insert it into the mounting case.
  4. Make sure to connect the necessary cables to your hard drive.
  5. Screw the mounting case to your computer and verify the hardware setup.
  6. Restart your computer and log in to your account with administrator rights.
  7. Next, click the Start menu and type ‘diskmgmt.msc’ in the search field. 
  8. Hit the Enter key to launch the Disk Management window.
  9. Alternatively, open the Run dialog box and type ‘diskmgmt.msc’ in the text field. Press Enter or click OK to launch the Disk Management.
  10. If prompted, enter your administrator password in the required field.
  11. Give a right-click on your 2TB NAS hard drive in the Disk Management window and select the Initialize Disk option.
  12. Choose the GPT option as your partition type and click the OK button.
  13. Before proceeding, ensure that your drive is unallocated.
  14. Right-click the Unallocated box and select the New Simple Volume option.
  15. Click Next in the Welcome Wizard window, specify your volume size and assign a new drive letter or path.
  16. Format your hard drive by selecting NTFS or exFAT from the File System drop-down menu.
  17. Input a name for your hard drive in the Volume label field.
  18. Click Next and select Finish to complete the Seagate Ironwolf 2TB Nas hard drive setup.
