Connecting The SSD
- To begin with, turn off your Windows computer and access the hard drive mounting bay.
- Mount the Seagate Barracuda drive into the mounting bay and secure it with the mounting screws.
- In case you are replacing your primary drive with the Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive Crush, connect the drive to your motherboard using the supplied SATA connector.
- Fix the mounting bay into the CPU and turn on your computer.
Formatting The Drive
- On your Windows computer, right-click the Start menu (Windows logo) at the bottom-left corner of the desktop.
- Select the Disk Management tab from the pop-up menu to launch Disk Management.
- Your new drive will show up as unallocated. Give a right-click on it and select the New Simple Volume option.
- Click on Next in the pop-up window to begin the drive format and partition.
- On the Assign Drive Letter or Path screen, specify a drive letter for your Computer.
- On the Format Partition screen, select a file format from the File System drop-down menu.
- Click the Next button and select Finish.
- Close Disk Management and install Seagate’s DiscWizard to back up your files.
- You can also use SeaTools to monitor the drive performance.
